BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Md. Hamidur Rahman is serving IUT, a subsidiary organ of OIC, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering. He did his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from IUT in 2004. His undergraduate research focused on the utilization of solar heat energy for producing useful cooling. This work had been awarded "Best Student Project-2005" by the Bangladesh Society of Mechanical Engineers (BSME). He got admission in the MASc program in Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) with full financial support and began the program in September 2006. His graduate research title was "Numerical Analysis of Tip Leakage Flow and Shroud Heat Transfer in an Axial Gas Turbine Engine". He became expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and also familiar with many CFD tools applicable for aerospace industry. During his higher study, he was the recipient of International and Partial Tuition Fee Remission awards for five terms.  After completing MASc, he joined IUT in January 2009. He is currently doing PhD in Mechanical Engineering (part time) at Islamic University of Technology. His research interest includes Renewable energy (Solar and Wind), Computational Fluid Dynamics applications (External/Internal Flow and Heat Transfer).
